Turning a wordpress blog from nofollow to dofollow

POSTED BY admin on Aug 10 under Blog Tips, Social Network, Wordpress Help

Nofollow to dofollowToday more and more bloggers are turning their blogs from nofollow to dofollow. They simply do this to get more comments on their blogs. When we have a dofollow blog, we can expect more people commenting on it with their links. Many bloggers and internet marketing experts even use commenting on dofollow blog as a way to get some quality links for their websites and blogs. When we leave a comment on dofollow blog with our site link, all major search engines including Google, yahoo and MSN will consider that as a back link to our website.

And when it comes about turning a blog from nofollow to dofollow, it will not take much time and effort. In today’s post, I will tell you how to convert a wordpress blog nofollow to dofollow:

To make a wordpress blog dofollow, we will need to install a dofollow plugin from Semiologic.com in Plugins directory. This plugin will disable the nofollow attribute in comment section of your wordpress blog. Here are the exact steps that you have to follow to install this dofollow plugin from Semiologic:

  1. Download sem-dofollow (zip) in your computer hard disk and unzip it which will give you sem-dofollow.php file.
  2. Upload sem-dofollow.php file in Plugins directory using a FTP client
  3. Login to your wordpress admin section and activate the Dofollow plugin from the Plugins Section.

This is how you will be able to make your wordpress blog dofollow.

    Hi,

I see that you are explaining how to turn a blog into a dofollow blog. And, I see that you have another post helping people find dofollow blogs.

But, your blog is nofollow. It seems you are encouraging dofollow but not making your own blog dofollow.

Do you plan on going dofollow? Why are you not choosing to be dofollow?

    Thanks,
    Curious Mike

    Hi Mike

You are right. Comments on my blog are nofollow right now. But have just activated the dofolow plugin. So all the comments that added/will be added on my blog will be dofollow.

Recently, there has been a good deal of investigation by the
US Federal trade comission against bloggers and website developers
for not revealing their advertising revenue, or existing
    connections with ad networks.

What are your personal ideas about how this could potentially impact
    the blog world?

Great thanks for sharing this! I have hated how Wordpress comes out-of-the-box with NoFollow, as I have no problems allowing commentors to gain some link credibility from my blog.

I think the only disadvantage you have with having dofollow links on your blog, is too many links going out from your blog, which may result in low page rank
