Google launched a new web authoring tool like Wikipedia, About.com and eHow on July 23, 2008 called Knol. Google Knol which is in Beta is free to use and is open for all. More formally, Google Knol is a content sharing network where the writers, Authors, Professionals and layman can write about any topic they are interested in and knowledgeable about.
Creating a Google Knol
To create a Google Knol, all you need is a Gmail account and If you don’t have that, first create your Gmail account first. Now start creating your first Knol by login to your Gmail account. Create a Knol about the things you are most passionate about as you will be able to give your maximum efforts in a topic of your interest. Before publishing any information on your Knol, do some research work and make sure that every claim that is made in your Knol is accurate.
Include links to resources like images, videos, blogs, website which makes your knol a perfect knowledge base about that topic. If you have more tips about that topic on your website/blog, don’t forget to include links to them in your Knol.
Once you have your first Know ready, create an account on Google Adsense as a way to make money from your Knol. And if you already have a Google Adsense account, you are one more step closer to making money with your Knol. Once Google accepts your Adsense account, link that with your Google Knol and your profile page. Once you have successfully added Google adsense widget in your Google Knol, start tracking your Knol earnings with Google Adsense. And how much we will be able to make per click with our Knol using Google Adsense will depend upon the niche we chosen for our first Knol. In general a knol about Finance related issues will give us more money per click as compared to Entertainment related topics. But don’t write about topic you don’t have any idea. So ideal situation for us will be to create a Knol about the topics we are most knowledgeable about and passionate to write about.
Google Knol is going to be very popular like Wikipedia, About.com. eHow, Squidoo and Hubpages in the coming days as it has already got massive amount of traffic and links in short period of time. So creating a Knol today will help us in getting lots traffic to our websites and blogs and also will help us in making money with Google adsense.
Google Knol does not allow spammy comment and if your Knol has anything against their Privacy policies, it will be automatically deleted. So it will be better to read Knol Privacy Policies, before start adding content to your first Knol.

I just stumbled upon it today. The very first thing I noticed was they looked sort of like blog posts. The second thing I noticed is that no matter how new the knol is they have a google ranking of 7. A google rank of 7 is extremely good, and would normally take someone years to get that rank. Even pro blogger does not have that rank!
So I am impressed and interested in knol. There is money to be made there and I think, like with blogs, if you are there in the beginning than you have the better chance to make a lot of money.
Thanks for this article, I did not think that knol will be as popular as the peoples favorites, but my eyes are quickly getting opened and all I see is opportunity!
