Forums are a great place where you can build a robust network of loyal community around you and your blog. If you are interested in what the forum is about, then you will surely find it fun. Recently, there has been an even bigger rage surrounding high page rank forums due to backlinks, which they can give bloggers – so here in this post I have given three forum secrets that will help you to promote your blog:
1. Don’t Try To Be At All Places At Once
If you try to be active at all places at one, then you will not optimize any of the forums, which you are using. It is only practical that you cannot be active in too many forums at one time. So it is my advice that you go through a list of High Page Rank forums and then focus your attention on two or three of these forums. Then after a period of three months or so you can switch to another group of high Page Rank forums. This is how you should ideally proceed towards building backlinks from high page rank forums.
2. Select A Forum Niche
Many bloggers make the mistake of trying to be involved in any high page rank forum, which they can find. This is a poor practice because you are essentially destroying a lot of potential readers to your blog (which will be on your interested niche). Also you can never give 100% to a forum where you are not at all interested in their threads and topics of discussion. So be really careful when you come to this point. Many bloggers regret having promoted their blog on the wrong niche forums.
3. Respect A Forum
If you plan to join a high Page Rank forum to only contribute junk so that you can get a backlink – you are affecting the image of yourself and your blog. Remember forums are also a great source of traffic. Understand what a forum is really for. If you can provide quality responses to other contributors they will also give respect to what you comment on the forum threads. Also, make full use of the forum – ask questions and doubts that have genuinely struck you and also help other who are in need of some kind of help. This is why I have mention in the previous point about the Forum niche selection.

Great info on forum marketing. I agree, forum marketing can be a great source of traffic.
I also use forum marketing. You should search for forums in your related niche (either in google or big-boards.com) and join there.
Also, first read the rules specially about signatures there and then start giving value to the forum. Participate, ask questions etc.
You will see that by giving value, people will begin to notice you. And you will get clicks to your website.

I really agree with you anil ,There are too many DO follow forums with high page rank .Once you active on these forums it will definitely make a big impact on your web/blog page rank and traffic.
I have never been a big fan of forums but I do need to start looking into them more.
I’ve had trouble finding reliable lists of forum and blog lists. They’re usually out of date or just unusable. Do you have one you would recommend?
The contest was very effective to make your blog be known by many people. Imagine, for winning the contest that we make, the participants is such as “workers” that collect links to our blog, even while we sleep.
I really don’t care much of the forums right now because I believed based on my experience they just have a little impact for your site. Gaining links from siggies and bbc code really doesn’t make sense at all.

I actually think posting on your blog regularly is really hard to do without supplementing it somehow. So I actually hired a bunch of interns to write my content, and now I have so much content, I decided to share it with other bloggers in the form of my site, promote my blog.
If you want to get more visits write huge words in your signature and be very activate post more and more posts
they will see your site and they will come on it

I think #2 is the most important point to take away here. Heck, I’d even go so far as to say that both #1 and #3 are less of a priority than point #2. After all, the other two points will mean nothing if your efforts are not targeted at a relevant niche forum.
It is extremely important to first choose a forum that is relevant to your blog’s niche. Once you have made this decision, then you must actively participate in that forum in a way that is meaningful to the forum’s members.

Promoting yourself via forums can work, I definitely always found it best to always be an integral part of the community, find a community where you are comfortable being a part of, and provide alot of value and make yourself a part of that community, the rest will come very easily.
