All of your blogging ideas are dried out, but still want to write new posts for readers who are waiting for more quality posts on the subject you are writing on your blog for the last six months or so? If you are facing the similar kind of situation keep on reading….
In today’s post, I will suggest you some ways to get new post ideas for your blog. I will not be telling what you should or should not write on your blog but will suggest you some resources or website you can visit to drive new ideas for blogging on your blog. So use the following techniques when all of your blogging ideas are dried out:
- Blogs of your niche: create a list of all big and newly launched blogs in your niche and subscribe to their RSS FEED in Google Reader using a Gmail or Google account. Once you have added some blogs of your niche in your Google Reader, check Google Reader on regular basis to see on what topic other bloggers are writing about. After seeing some of blog posts, some ideas will strike in mind about which you can create your next post. And in case you find more blogs in your niche or about the topics you want to blog about, add their RSS as well in your Google Reader.
- Google News: Go to Google News, and make search with some of popular keywords you are writing about on your blog. It might be difficult for you doing manual search for all keywords you are targeting on your blog every time on Google news. Better approach will be creating e-mail alert with all keywords you want to blog about in Google news. This way, Google will send you e-mail alert every time new content appears on Google news with any of your keyword in use.
- Google blog search: go to Google Blog Search and search with the keywords of niche there. You can create alerts or RSS Feed with the keywords you want to target on your blog with Google blog search.
- Keywords Research: go to Google Adwords Keywords Tool and type-in your industry keywords there to get more ideas for future posts. Ihimself use this amazing keyword tool from Google on many occasions to get more post ideas. Like when I enter ‘make money online’ in the search box available in this keyword tool, I get many more amazing keywords related to ‘make money online’ that I can use to create some of my future posts like:how to make money online
make money online games
make money online job
make money online sites
make money online scams
make money online ebay
make money online survey
make money online software
work online and make money
learn how to make money online
make money online affiliate
make money online with google
make money online now freeYou can perform this exercise using any keyword tool available on internet. - Social Media sites: spend some time on top social media sites as these websites cover all latest, hottest and interest topics occurring on internet. If you like, you can subscribe to their RSS into your Google Reader with the keywords of your industry. You can even use Twitter for additional ideas to blog about by making search with the keywords of your industry and check what other bloggers in your niche are tweeting about on Twitter. - Blog comments: Don’t forget to check your blog comments on regular basis. Generally comments from your blog readers are full of questions and the topics they want to see on your blog. And when a reader asks some interesting question, you can mold that into your new post. So grab all content writing opportunities that you get from your blog readers. If you are working as an expert in your niche, create a form or column on your blog where blog readers can simply ask their questions or send in their advice about the topics they want you to cover in your upcoming posts.
- Traffic Stats: when you check your blog traffic statistics using Google analytics or any other traffic monitoring website or software, you will find many long tails related to your industry you can use for your future posts.
- Discussion forums: find some discussion forum that covers all major topics about your niche and spend some time for additional post ideas. If your blog is covering topics like seo, blogging, affiliate marketing, making money, internet marketing etc, then you should go to DP Forum, Sitepoint, Seo Chat, V7N kind of top discussion forums in these niches.
- YouTube Videos: I would suggest checking YouTube videos on regular basis with some of basic keywords about your industry and check what other gurus and experts have to say about these topics. You can even try finding some of top bloggers in your niche on YouTube and keep track of their videos by subscribing to their video channels.
- Write Reviews: pick some products or books about your niche and write reviews about them on your blog. You can even link those products or books to any of popular affiliate site like Amazon.com, ClickBank.com, LinkShare and Commission Junction if they are available there.

A couple of other suggestions to get ideas is watching the TV or going to a movie. You get to relax and at the same time, watch what’s going on, thereby picking up some more ideas.
I also go would suggest going to Ezine articles to get more ideas for your particular area.
