But after last algorithm changes in Alexa Rankings, it seems as if Alexa has lost its importance  to some extent at least. The first result that you will get will be the list of pages that are currently indexed in Yahoo for this website. I get 214 pages for SFM that are actually indexed in Yahoo.

Now click on ‘Inlinks’ which is shown with some numbers. There are two drops down menus below:

First of all it gives me detailed information about website crawling, indexing and URL related problems. Once you have submitted your sitemap here, Google will give you the information about the total number of URL’s submitted and the number of indexed URL’s so far.

Tools

This is the section where you can create and analyze robots.txt file for your website. You can set your website crawling rate and Geographic location if you are targeting people of a specific region in this section. Under ‘Set Preferred Domain’, we specify how Google is going to open our website URL i.e. with www or without www like I set www.scopeformoney.com for my blog.

It seems as if PR update is going on. My blog looks to be getting Page Rank of 3 in the ongoing Google PR update. In the last PR update, my blog was having PR 0. I’m really happy that my blog gets PR 3 which is quite good for a 5 months old blog. I started this blog in the mid of March this year. Currently I’m use Google analytics to monitor all visitor activities on my websites and blogs. Prior to this, I was using Statcounter to keep track of visitors on my websites. I love Google analytics because it gives me lots of details about the people that are visiting my website.

How to use Google Analytics

To start using GA, we need to create an account on Google analytics. If you have already a gmail account or Google account, you can use that to sign up on GA. In today’s post, I will talk about ways to increase a blog authority and rankings on Technorati.

1. Technorati Account - First of all if you have a blog, create an account on Technorati and claim your blog there to start increasing your rankings and authority on Technorati.
2. Dofollow Blogs - Find a list of dofollow blogs by making a search for ‘Dofollow blogs list’ on Google. Also if you spend some time on webmaster, Internet marketing or search engine related forums, you will be able to find many list of dofollow blogs. Sitepoint, DPforum, SoChat, webproworld are some of big discussion forums about internet marketing, search engines, seo, blogging and affiliate marketing kind of stuff.
3. Link Exchange - create a big list of top bloggers in your niche with their contact information.
