I have been noticing a strange problem with my FeedBurner RSS Subscribers counter. I have been seeing my RSS Subscribers count fluctuating a lot this month, looks like there is some problem with FeedBurner counter. Generally my RSS Subscribers graph varies from 260 to 300. Right now FeedBurner is showing exactly 300 subscribers against my RSS Counter.
When I checked my FeedBurner account, On May 2nd, I had 135 Subscribers only and the next day, my subscribers count gets back to its normal state of 262. I witnessed the same kind of fluctuation with my RSS Subscribers count on many occasions with my FeedBurner account this month. Recently on 22nd May, It was showing 193 subscribers against my blog and on 23may, my RSS Subscribers counter gets back to 272.
I’m even attaching the screenshot that I took from my FeedBurner account to make my point even more clear.

Have you noticed such kind of fluctuation in RSS Subscribers count to your blog where you are using FeedBurner service to manage and control your Feeds or any other service, please share in the comments section below? If you ever face this kind of situation when you lose lots of or approximately half of your blog subscribers in a single day, wait for the next one or two day, by the time FeedBurner counter gets fixed and start showing your original subscribers count.

I quit worying about my feedburner stats a long time ago as I’ve come to know that it even registers bots that access your feed. Your email subscribers are all that should really count and mine is pegged @ 30 subscribers @ the moment.
I am glad I am not the only one seeing this.
I was thinking about blogging about it, but you saved me some effort. It appears that Feedburner has changed its methods of calculation. It is never an exact number anyway, but the huge daily influx seems to be a move in the wrong direction.
When I see this problem, I thought I was the only person facing this problem. But still I blog about it thinking that It might help few bloggers in near future when they see such a big drop in their RSS subscribers.
Yes, I have noticed the same thing. My subscriber number drops by 30-40, regains, and then drops again- every other day. Two days ago, it said that no one read my feed- how is that possible? In 6 months I haven’t had no one read my feed.
There is some bug in RSS Subscriber counter which behaves indifferently on occassions.
