Since Google Vince update early this year, there is lots of talk going on about branding in seo, blogging, and webmaster related blogs, websites and discussion forums. What is Google definition of a brand, they don’t think about brands, they think about website trust, authority, page rank, reputation and high quality etc.
In today’s article, I’m going to discuss the way-out (keeping them very short), I may follow to convert my newly created or old website or blog into a brand. I may be wrong or missing lots of ways that one can follow to create lots of buzz and branding about your websites and blogs.
- Social network websites: I would aim at creating a presence for my website on some of popular social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Orkut, Digg, Propeller, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Linkedin, Reddit, Humsurfer etc.
- Presence on Topical websites: I would be interested in creating a page about my website or around its services and products on some of popular topical page creation websites like Squidoo, Hubpages, and Google Knol etc
- Video Sharing websites: create some interesting and short videos of high quality around the services and products and spread them on some of popular video sharing websites like YouTube, Yahoo Videos, Daily Motion, Metacafe, Veoh and Break.com etc.
- Article Distribution: would create some high quality informative articles around the topics I cover on my websites and then submit them on some of popular Ezine publishing websites. Some of popular and authority websites where I would love to submit my articles would be Ezinearticles.com, GoArticles.com, ArticleDashboard.com, AmericanChronicle.com, ArticleBase.com, Buzzle.com, Gather.com and isnare.com etc.
- Guest Blogging: I would love to generate a list of top blogs about my website niche and contact them with my intension of doing some guest posts on their blogs. Once I get positive response from some of bloggers, would start generating guest posts according to their specific guidelines and get some valuable links for my website in Author Bio section and if permissible, even in the content part.
- Comment posting: Again would to create a list of websites and blogs that accepts comments whether they are dofollow or nofollow. Once I have a list of such websites and blogs, would start leaving valuable comments on them with a link-back to my website.
- Newsletters services: would generate a big mailing list and would send newsletters and Autoresponders on regular intervals to them. I would be using my website name, its logo, tagline etc in the header section in each of my e-mail that I send to my mailing list.
- Signature section: I would create extra awareness about my website by using my website name, logo, tagline etc in all my e-mails in the signature section, letter heads, business cards and statements etc. With this, I would use my website name with links to my services in the signature section on the discussion forum where I spend some time on daily basis working as an expert. If you have a website about seo services, you should generate should valuable links about your websites and services on some of popular discussion forums like DP Forum, SeoChat, SitePoint, WebProWorld, V7N etc.
- Using Thank You page: I would create a Thank You pages on my websites when people fill in some forms on my website like contact form, newsletter subscription form, question form, lead generation forms etc. I would love to use my website name, logo and one or two of my services in these pages.
- Create presence on top Authority websites: It’s not a bad idea if you can create a page about your website and services on Wikipedia.org and other wiki’s. Similarly, you can create how to manuals about various products, services, calculators if you have on your website on some of popular websites like eHow.com, WikiHow.com and Work.com. Apart from these websites, you should create a presence for your website on Aboutus.org, Yahoo Answers, and Wiki.Answers.com etc

So far i havent had much success with Twitter or Stumbleupon. I think blog commenting is a good way to build a solid reputation and build a brand for your website. But you should be able to post a decent comment which should be valuable to everyone and not just a ‘nice post’or ‘thank you for great post’.
Once you do this on a consistant base you will start getting recognised.

Nice tips on how to increase traffic! As of now, my goal is to increase my traffic to 1,000 unique visitors per day.

Great article! You might missed one or two ways but the above mentioned are enough to start over branding a certain website. Surely, a very useful tips for someone like me.
At the moment I am trying to brand my site together with my twitter account, but I am worried because as I have progressed through the world of the internet, I am finding new things like even today when I found out about thesis theme builder, as I said in that post I am going to give it a go which will yet again throw my branding in a different direction, hey ho the ever decreasing circle keeps turning!
