Look like there is some problem occurring with Paypal in India as people in India are not able to send and receive payments using personal method via Paypal. I himself get some e-mail notifications from Paypal about the latest transactions into my paypal account where the amount is reversed back to the original sender. Here is one of e-mail notifications that I receive recently from Paypal:
Hello XXX,
Your payment of xxx has been sent back to the sender of the payment.
We reversed this payment because we have stopped allowing personal payments to be sent to or from India.
If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a personal payment, then you may contact the buyer and have him or her resend the payment as follows: (a) click the Send Money tab, (b) select “Goods,” and (c) provide a shipping address.
If this payment was a personal payment such as a gift, then we have requested that the sender find another payment method until we restore personal payments to and from India.
We are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we’re sorry for any inconvenience.
Thank you,
PayPal
All of your recent payments that you sent or received using personal payment method in India are reversed, but business transactions are still allowed.

Paypal done this without any intimation and how can paypal reverse money from our account once they have credited.
If they have stopped personal payments to and from India. then they have to block the option by sender side that he can not
send payment in India.
I got USD 577 in last few days. I have also requested to withdraw money in bank account. See what happens !!!!!!
Paypal canceled all my withdrawal requests and credited USD 542 and reversed to senders.
I got credit of USD 542 instead of USD577. Even if withdrawal requested are not completed (Deducted exchange rate fees). But
how can they deduct exchange rate fees even if transactions are not completed and money are sent back to senders.
Now I have negative balance. And I like that balance will become positive by deducting from credit card.
Who can tell that paypal is safe way payment method ????
No steps are taken in front of paypal.
I’m also facing the same kind of problems with my paypal account here in India. Lots of money that I received or send have been reversed back. I don’t know why this is happening.
If Paypal does not want people to send or receive payments using personal payment method, they should have blocked it in advance or send some notification to all paypal users here in India.
Look like this problem has big impact on small businesses and freelancers. Right now I have negative balance in my paypal account and there is no help or update from how to about the reversed tranasctions.
This is so not happening grr.. i receive so man internet payements from paypal i wonder what will happend now ..
I digged little but deeper and its due to Indian government restriction for the papal due to interest % according to Indian government a person is entitled to receive and he is restricted to send any money abroad due to tax % only company’s may send money abroad legally paying interest % thus paypal blocked due to Indian government restriction on sending personal money so they stop it both the way until they can sought this out with them
We should chose a alternative payment processor instead of paypal. There are lots of complaints about paypal.
Hi
Do you know of some good alternates, if yest please share in the comments section so that others can also get benefit from it
Yes I am agree with you because Indian people are really use paypal in wrong term. Keep it up.
PayPal is earning a big amount from Indian customers, and not paying Tax to indian govt., I think RBI is doing just to collect tax and customer data from PayPal, this is good for our country.
We should support RBI.
Alternative to Paypal in India is CCAvenue AFAIK.
Very much align with Sonia, PayPal is doing monopoly here, transaction fee while transfer amount to your bank……Huge.
No other option available here…. ccavenue is too expensive.
