WordPress themes are in big demand on the internet. There are many WordPress theme providers online, some are quite popular. Thesis Theme for WordPress, WooThemes are all websites that provide you with premium WordPress themes. However, the most popular option for most bloggers who are beginners is the free WordPress themes that are offered. There are thousands of free WordPress themes available on the internet. There is an array of Magazine styled, Photography styled blog themes available in plenty. It kind of eliminates the need for a premium WordPress theme. But the advantages offered may be distinct. At the same time, premium WordPress themes may not be the best option for everyone.
The reason why I say that the premium theme may not be an option for everyone is that – some blog for leisure, if you are a kind of person who is not really looking to monetize your blog then there is no need for you to purchase a premium theme as there will be an abundance of option in free WordPress themes.
Premium themes should be preferred by the following people:
Seriousness
If you are the kind of blogger who is really looking at a long term aspect in blogging and what a blog theme that will show your commitment to it then a premium theme may be something that you may want a look at.
Customization
Most free WordPress themes, do not allow a high level of customization to bloggers. If you are looking at high level of flexibility with widgets and columns, then there are Premium themes that will suit your purpose. Most premium themes provide a great advantage of lots of customization to each blogger – so that it can suit each one’s personal taste.
SEO
The coding for many free WordPress themes are done by individuals like you and me, talented people nonetheless. However, in case of premium themes from reputed sites – the source codes are carefully written such that it will provide the best level of Search Engine Optimization. In some free themes, the code may be broken and may not be SEO-friendly – it is a risk which most bloggers have to take when they opt for a free theme.
Professionalism
If you have a free theme then you will invariably notice that the developer will put a link to his homepage at the bottom of each page. It is also something which you cannot edit. So it does not look very professional when someone sees it. If you want to have no link there, either you have to pay some money to the developer or buy a premium wordpress theme.
Hope these points help you clear your mind on what theme to choose when you begin blogging. Do you own a Premium WordPress theme? If so what is the best/bad feature you find in it?

In my opinion one should use a free theme until he is earning some decent amount.
I’m agree with your views Vivek.
Wordpress themes are nice for those that don’t have webdesign experience. But none-the-less, I would say you should have a working knowledge of HTML, PHP, and probably CSS because some themes don’t install as intended and waiting for support can be a time period.Another alternative would be to go with Wordpress Direct. They have very professional themes and are all SEO and ready to go. Plenty of affiliate marketers use Wordpress Direct for their blogs because on not putting up with to much SEO and just focusing on building content and backlinks.
Sometimes free themes are more better than premium themes. But of course by buying premium themes we will have some benefits like themes support. If newbie, I would like to advise them to use free themes and concentrate on creating content first.
Im Currently Running my site with blogger with domain add someday i may switch the hosted server i will be definitely using premium theme as professional looks is much better
@Fazreen, cant agree with you more farzeen i have seen so many free professional theme it outruns the premium standards
I actually use a free theme on my make money online blog. I chose it because I actually know the designer fairly well for quite some time so I know he put forth the effort to make it SEO friendly and kept it minimal so I could focus on the content.
I don’t think it’s always necessary to go with a premium theme if it’s overkill but I do think it’s important to craft your themes to match your niche and personal style.
I noticed you are using a thesis theme. How do you like it so far Anil? I am currently looking for a premium theme that I can customize, yet can be a different look and feel on different websites that I have. Since I own 40 plus sites, I need to take some time and really do my research.
Hi Darrell
