Of course, you can make a lot of money online, but the hard fact is that only blogging will not be able to earn you a 6-figure income every month (only rare cases). In fact, the money earned from blogging can only be considered as residual. To really make money online, what you need to do is start an internet business.
Starting an internet business is very different from blogging. In fact, blogging is only a medium to promote your online business. An internet business can range from multi-billion dollar companies like Paypal and Facebook to an online store that sells garden tools. Unlike blogging, when you are starting an internet business – you are creating yourself an asset that can generate you money for the rest of your life. In the same case as blogging, it can of course earn you money, but it will never be an asset that keeps paying you throughout your life. If you stop updating your blog and providing new articles to your readers – you will notice that soon your traffic will take a big hit and eventually all the sponsors who made you so handsomely a few months back have deserted you. This is why blogging can never be considered a business in a real sense.
When you begin an internet business you are essentially starting an organization that becomes an asset for you. An asset in the sense that after a few years let us assumes that your internet business has developed, and then there are many possible future for a successful internet business. The options include that you could either simply become a beneficiary – which means that it is run by a third-party but you get a cut out of the profits. Then there are many people who sell their startup after a certain amount of success for huge sums. Or simply you can reap the automated income which your site will generate for you through your life.
The income that you earn from a successful internet business will be no where close the revenues you might be able to earn from blogging. So although blogging is a good way to make decent money online, if you want to be rich from working on the internet they starting up an online business is the best way to go. But many people fail to think of the larger picture and end up spending all their time and energy only on publishing articles for their readers and rank well in the search engines. It is very important that any person who wants to be rich should be able to broaden their horizon of thinking. Same thing applies to a person interested in getting rich on the internet.
The challenges faced in an internet business will be the initial money that you will intend to pump in. Because of course, you will need to spend money on setting up your website, promotion and even maybe a professional under you – the last one is obviously not required in some cases. But like in all money making ventures, there is no scope to make money without risk and it will be your responsibility for the success or failure.
With each day passing there are more and more people browsing the internet for information, products and services. And every day there are new businesses that are mushrooming online and establishing their markets. Markets that you are losing with each day that you are spending time “thinking” about your money making plan. If you really want to make money on the internet, don’t think a lot and take the jump. And an internet business is the best way to earn money on the internet that will make you rich. Only blogging will only have a limited scope to earn money.

This is totally true. There are TONS of ways and methods to make money online. But what may work for one, may not work for the other. And there is no one ‘correct’ method.

This is also true. The web’s power is increasing day by day. The people logging on the internet are also increasing. Businesses are investing more on the web and social media. I think this trend will only increase.
