It seems as if PR update is going on. My blog looks to be getting Page Rank of 3 in the ongoing Google PR update. In the last PR update, my blog was having PR 0. I’m really happy that my blog gets PR 3 which is quite good for a 5 months old blog. I started this blog in the mid of March this year. And in this very short period of time, this blog has done extremely well. Here is screenshot of my blog with 3 Google page rank:

How you people know the blog you are visiting is a popular blog? I use certain parameters to know the popularity of a blog like Google page rank, Alexa Rankings and Technorati Authority and its rankings. In today’s post, I will talk about ways to increase a blog authority and rankings on Technorati.

1. Technorati Account - First of all if you have a blog, create an account on Technorati and claim your blog there to start increasing your rankings and authority on Technorati.
2. Dofollow Blogs - Find a list of dofollow blogs by making a search for ‘Dofollow blogs list’ on Google. Also if you spend some time on webmaster, Internet marketing or search engine related forums, you will be able to find many list of dofollow blogs. Sitepoint, DPforum, SoChat, webproworld are some of big discussion forums about internet marketing, search engines, seo, blogging and affiliate marketing kind of stuff.
3. Link Exchange - create a big list of top bloggers in your niche with their contact information. When you have the list, send them the e-mail request explaining that you are willing to exchange link with their blogs. When you do it, try to be as much polite you can and don’t send the same e-mail format to all bloggers in your niche. Create a general e-mail format and then give it the personalized look by filling the information like blogger’s name, blog address, blog title, favorite post etc before sending it to each blogger.
4. Social Bookmarking - create a strong profile on top social media sites and submit your latest blog posts there. I would recommend using Digg, Mixx.com, Sphinn and stumbleupon if you are specially looking for ways to increase your Technorati authority and rankings.
5. Site & blog list - create a list of websites and blogs that are linking to you and then ping all of these URL’s one by one using Technorati Pinging form.
6. Content updation - write quality content on your blog and keep the posts coming to your blog on regular basis. Once you have added a new post to your blog, don’t forget to ping Technorati.
7. Guest blogging - use the blogger’s list that you created in step 2 and ask them you are willing to write a guest post on their blogs. In most of the cases, they will allow you for guest blogging. When you write a guest post for any of blogger in your niche, you will be able to get a quality link for your blog and also will be able to increase your Technorati authority as well.

Everyone wants to remain in touch with the top bloggers in their niche. But the biggest question that arises is where to find the top bloggers in your niche. I try to answer this question by suggesting some resources that anyone can use to find the bloggers of their type and use these resources efficiently to network with them:

When you are able to get links from the bloggers of you niche, you will not only be able to drive large amount of traffic to your website but with this will be able to create some authority for your website/blog in the eyes of search engines.

Another benefit that you will have is that you will have more ideas to post about on your blog that will came to your mind after communicating and reading their blogs.

1. Blogging communities - visit blogging communities like Mybloglog, Blogcatalog, Bumpzee, Spicypage.com and search with the keywords of your niche to find the bloggers of your type.
2. Google blog search - go to Google Blog search and enter the keywords of your blog in the search box to find the bloggers of your niche with their latest posts.
3. Technorati - go to Technorati and enter the keywords of your choice there to find the bloggers in your niche. Technorati offers some authority and ranking to every blog, so it will help you to find the top bloggers in your niche.
4. StumbleUpon - most of the users on StumbleUpon have created blogs so do some research work here to add more new bloggers to your list you have searched so far.
5. Social media sites - spend some time on social media sites which cover most of the categories you may be interested in. Once you find a blogger like you, add that blogger blog RSS into your RSS reader.
6. Blogging directories - there are thousands of blogging directories, but would suggest searching for your targeted keywords in top blog directories only.
7. Blogging forums - for blogging tips, advice and to get in touch with other bloggers, visit top blogging forums
8. Blog Top sites - browse in your blog category at Blogflux, Topblogarea, Blogtoplist etc kind of blog ranking sites to find top bloggers in your category.
9. Google search - go to Google.com and search for keywords related to your industry and add the term ‘Blog’ at the end of your searched keyword. If you are willing to find the bloggers that bogs about money making then search for ‘money making blog’ in google search box. And if you are willing to find blogs that are created on a specific blogging platform use the following commands in google search:

10. Blogger’s blogroll - by now you must be able to find some bloggers of your niche, browse their blogrolls to find more bloggers like you.
11. Some mix stuff - spend some time on Bloglines and Linkedin kind of social networking websites to find more bloggers n your category.
