- It’s not easy at all: If anyone tells you it’s as easy as pie to make money online even with no skills, DON’T believe them. It’s far from the truth and it only makes you fall victim to get-rich-quick scams that are waiting to be perpetrated by every crook on the Internet. Contrary to popular belief, making money online is not simple at all. Even with legitimate programs like those that allow you to make money off advertisements on your website, you make very little money, certainly not enough to sustain a decent lifestyle and certainly not a regular income for you to quit your regular job. Unless you’re well established on the web, unless you’re savvy about all the ways that the Internet can be tapped to make money, and unless you’re willing to put your finger in all the money-making pies online, you’re never going to make a success of yourself online with no marketable skills.
- It takes a certain amount of skill: Sure you can make money online if you’re a writer; however, you cannot do it off your blog alone. You must be able to sell yourself as a freelancer and get paid for the articles your write. The same goes for being a web designer, developer, graphics artist and most other jobs that can be done online, away from an onsite location. People succeed at making money online at these jobs because they’re not limited to the Internet – you can work anywhere as a writer or a designer; but with the web making it easy for you to find clients and work from your home, it appears that you’re making money off the Internet and not with your skills. The truth is, unless you have a saleable quality or skill, you cannot make too much money online.
- It’s not for everyone: The biggest trouble with working online is that there are way too many distractions to take you away from your work. So unless you’re sure that you can deliver without being side-tracked, unless you have the determination and dedication to succeed, unless you’re focused enough to work diligently even when you’re not supervised, it’s not something that you should consider.
So now that you know what it takes to make money online, see if you can pick up a marketable skill and sell yourself – that’s the best way to earn the big bucks on the Internet.

Good article that should bring a lot of people down to earth. I myself had no idea it’d be as tough as it is. I knew it wouldn’t be easy either but not this tough. And the competition is just growing day by day so it’s not getting any easier either.
When I started working online, I still had a 9-5 job and when I started earning decent money online and I felt sure that I will be earning more if I spend more time, that’s the time I quit my online job. And now, I have a full time online business and it’s good. But, it took a lot of patience, hard work and perseverance. It’s not overnight, it’s not instant.
thats is nothing different doing a normal business. You pretty much need the same set of skills to bring up online resources, wisely to make money. It need bit of luck as well. Only difference is it is wide open to everyone who is in front of a computer and connected to internet. It seems like really easy to make money online.

Making money online is definitely not easy, and if anything has gotten alot harder over the years! There are still opportunities out there but yeah you have to work hard at it, and it’s not walk in the park as make out to be

Yeah, making money online is definitely not easy, but it is possible. It’s hard to not get overvelmed by all the methods, systems, softwares and so on. The number one way to build a solid online income is – we all know it – building a list in a niche with hungry buyers. Give them free solid value und they will buy from you. It really is that simple. But this takes some time and effort. Forget all the other stuff and keep the focus! Build your list or quit this thing. Or at least master ONE System and not 20! It is possible, but you have to master the BASICS like listbuilding.

That is definitely the toughest decision for many people, Andrew. Leaving their regular job is a big risk, especially if it took them a lot of hard work and time to get there. Most of their online careers depend on that decision too so it’s a really tough decision for them to make as both sides are tempting in their own ways.
