As the post title suggests, this post is about how a blogger can make decent amount of money selling some links on their blogs via
Text Link Ads (TLA) marketplace.
My Experience
I have been working with TLA network since July 2007 and have so far earned $5,380.75 amount of money with them selling links on some of my blogs. This amount does not include my August 2009 earnings that I will be getting into my paypal account on the 1st of September 2009. Here is a screenshot of my earnings with TLA:
In the beginning, I submitted just one of my blogs on this text link selling and buying network. When I see some dollars coming into my TLA account, I start submitted some more active blogs that I have. And within nest six months, I start earning around $300 to $350 with TLA by selling few text links on my blogs.
How to get same kind of earning statistics for you?
So I would suggest you to create a publisher account on Text Link Ads in case you want to make money selling advertisements in the form of links on your blogs. They have certain criteria’s on the basis of which they decide whether to accept or reject any of your blog in their marketplace. Your blog must have a good page rank (PR 3 at least), high Alexa ranking and good amount of subscribers to your blog RSS feeds. So your blog has a great chance of being accepted in their network if it’s fulfilling all the requirements I just mentioned.
Your chances of making money with TLA increases more if your blog has higher page rank like 5 or 6. Suppose you have a PR 6 blog in active state is accepted in their network, you can have earnings of $50 or so for each link sold on your blog. You can sell up to 10 links on a blog under normal circumstances with text link ads. So you have a real chance of making $500 every month with this link selling network with the only PR 6 blog that you have. Most of blogs that I submitted on TLA were PR 3 or 4. So I was not able to get the same kind of earnings in my TLA account. But I have seen some people making this kind of money selling links through a single high pr blog only.
They use Paypal, Checks and Payoneer as the mode of transfer to send money to their publishers for their earnings. They send all of our earnings during the current month on the first of next month. I have so far used Checks and Paypal to receive my earnings with them. But I would suggest you to use Paypal if you have a Paypal which is the fastest and most secure method to send and receive money.
You don’t need to have a really high traffic blog to make money with them. You can make good amount of money with a lot traffic blog even if it has a good page rank. When I talked to some of marketers about their earnings with TLA, they reply that they are able to make more money by selling advertisement on their blogs with text link ads when compared to their Google Adsense earnings. You can increase your monthly earnings to great extent by applying Google Adsense and Text link ads at the same time on your blog.
Risk Involved
You are risking losing your Google page rank if you decide to sell text links on your blogs that are provided by TLA or ay other link selling network. Page rank is important to me, but not much important when I compare it with the amount of money I make selling text links.

Looks like you’re doing well but don’t you have a concern for Google penalties for selling links?

Yeah surely concerned about Google penalties. So far few of my bogs have sliped from PR 4 to PR 3. Apart from this, I don’t see any problem with my blogs. And you ask me frankly, PR might have reduced because I’m unable to add fresh content on those blogs

If you have a popular blog in your niche, create an advertise page on your blog. Lots of people automatically will be interested in placing different kind of ads on your blog. Aprt from this, you can try paid blogging, affiliate products, ppc ads, in-text advertising options like Kontera or infolink etc

I usually end up forgetting about it until I see the money deposited into my Paypal account at the start of the month for the previous month! Looks like you’ve done well over the last couple of years with TLA.
Great earning you have here! I’m curious how many blogs you served TLA to earn that amount of money? I’m curious why Google didn’t slap your PR to PR0 because I served TLA before and Google slap me to PR0.

I have been using text-link-ads on my 5 blogs only. Most of those blogs, I haven’t updated for months. I cannot say anything for sure why Google does not make my PR to 0 for selling text link ads may be I have too many links or have some valuable content on those blogs. No I haven’t been selling any kind of text link or banner ad through a marketplace like text-link-ads, TNX, Textlinkbrokers or teliad.com
Don’t know but you are making some good money from text link ads. I think you did lot of hard work.
Great income post. Really nice income from 5 blogs.
However i’d rather not use text link ads, because you lose your Google Pagerank and I consider page rank to be very valuable. I’ve heard that some blogs dont lose pagerank and some do so im not exactly % 100 sure.
But instead of using text link ads i’d proberly make a advertise page and sell links from there.
Also is there any other ads selling network where you dont lose pagerank or get penelized by Google.
But the interesting thing question is what do you find more importent? Having Google pagerank or earning some money?

I got more than 150 every month, just from 1 site. But when I want to submit my other site, it’s very very difficult. They said my site is record in their databse. What’s matter? How I can submit again? I submit I have 10-20 site in TLA and I will get $2000 per month. Really pasive income. BTW, I love your site, I hope I can visit again. Nice to meet you. Thanks!
This is the problem most publishers face while working with text link ads. What you can do is talk someone in their support team if the websites you are trying to submitting is fulfilling all their standard requirements like page rank, alexa ranking and link popularity etc.
Yeah… TLA is one of my income generator from one of my blog, but google hate that system and will ban our pagerank for it. Well, I still use TLA until now on. my income is not much as you, but I am happy with TLA..
I also have been doing the same. When I compare my blogs earnings with text link ads where I have applied text link ads was much more than Google Adsense. And till date, TLA is one of my biggest money making websites

How do you think if we put similar type of text link ads like linkworth in the same blog or page? it’s allowed by the ToS of TLA?
I think TLA should not have any problem with any of other text link brokers including Linkworth. I was able to get some paid reviews from linkworth on some of my blogs, but never get success in selling any link via them. How is your experience with Linkworth especially using their link selling services?

Nice, there are obviously lots of ways you can make money with your blog. Do you think that text link ads are a better way to monetize than adsense revenue? In your experience? I guess that at least google adsense does not run the risk of reducing your page rank over time…
I think you will get benefit from Google Adsense if you have a decent traffic blog. But you can make some money selling links on your blog even if that blog does not have any real traffic but having good page rank.
I agree. I think your review is unbiased. This is the direction I’m heading into right now, because as I write this, I am paying for a text link on another website. Well, if using this TLA would generate money & even make my blogs’ PR increase, this is a great method to use in the making money online. Just add the code where you want to show ads once someone buy them. Most of time, we add them in our blog sidebars. So go to your blog sidebar and paste the code where you are interested in showing text link ads. Please mail me if you get some problem in installing this code on your wordpress blog.
