There are many different things that you need to know in order to start a blog and keep it going successfully. Many people have a great idea that they want to tell the world about, yet they have no blasted idea how they would even get this information out to the public; nor do they even know who would be interested in hearing what they have to say. The things that you really need to know are this: Who your Target Audience is? What are you talking about or selling? Do you have a Niche chosen already? and How are you going to convey your ideas to your readers? These are the questions that you need to be able to answer before you even type out that first word of your blog.
Who is your target audience?
This is the very first question that you need to be able to answer. If you have no idea whatsoever who you are writing to or whose attention you are trying to get your blogs will be all over the place and will not make any sense whatsoever to your readers. This is not a very good place to start at all. You can write and publish a couple of “test blogs” about different subjects to see how well received they are and what the response to them is. This is something that many bloggers have done to start to get a feel for the reader’s preferences and desires.
What are you talking about or selling?
You need to be or an authority on your chosen product, service or idea. There is nothing wrong with not having all of the information that you feel that you should (in this context should is a very negative term that is actually a put down to and of yourself as a person) know or have. This is exactly what research is for and all about. If you have questions about something that you are thinking about promoting, you need to seek out those that are experts in their chosen field and talk to then so that you are as well informed as you can possibly be about the affiliate program(s) that you are looking to promote.
Do you have a particular Niche chosen?
You actually need to choose a niche market and product/service as soon as you have decided that you are going to do this. You are probably asking what exactly a niche market is and how you go about finding what you want to work with and promote. A Niche market or product is something that you have found that is in high demand by many people. Matching those buyers with their desired product is your job.
How are you going to convey your idea to your readers?
Figuring out exactly how you are going to say what you want to say without sounding like you are talking over your reader’s heads or down to them is the last thing that you need to be able to master and have figured out. If you are good at wording things this is all the better.
